OBEY x Keith Haring Tees

Recently, OBEY hooked up with the Keith Haring Foundation to produce a line of duds using art from the iconic artist’s career. The line is being primarily carried in Urban Outfitters and I had the chance to stop by one in SD and grab a couple tees. I wish I could’ve picked up a couple more but funds were kind of low after Warped.

You can find almost the entire line at Urban Outfitters (and elsewhere) and at obey.com.

I Have Artsy Friends

Most of my good friends are artists. It’s great to have people around me who inspire me to not only keep being creative but to also step my game up. That motivation is an awesome thing to have. I appreciate my friends who support me and my art whether it be with words or pencils/brushes or what have you. So here’s the links to my good friends who are good people and make good stuff.

Steven Clark : peppermintgentleman.tumblr.com
- Steven is a genie with a pen in his hand. I’d say his strongest point is his illustration. Give him a black pen and this kid will give you a dope drawing. He also paints using different mediums and even sculpts. Steven does graff though it’s mostly character based. He creates very unique and quirky characters but can also draw super detailed, complete pieces with only a pen. He’s also a skilled musician and a good friend.

James Dean Pruitt : jamesdeandoestattoos.tumblr.com
- James Dean (seriously) is one cool cat. I mean look at his name! You think a guy with that name could be lame? James is another versatile artists spreading his skill over illustration, stencil work, and of course tattoos. James makes color pencils look like weapons of supreme art with his shading and color work. He’s done three of my tattoos which I’ve been very satisfied with. James, like Steven, also does some pretty clean graff. His graff is more letter/name based. James also dabbles in photography (I use dabble loosely, he’s dope behind the lens). He’s awesome and he’s also very nice. Yeah I said, dude is nice.

Robert Diaz : mnnqn.tumblr.com
- Robert Diaz. My best friend who isn’t related by blood. He’s also single-handedly the only reason I’m interested in photography. RD is an amazing photographer. It doesn’t matter what he’s shooting he always produces incredible shots. This dude makes not cool shit look cool (like me). What’s funny is that he would be as good in front of the lens as he is behind it, because he’s a handsome mofo. But Rob is also dope when it comes to his illustration, painting, and digital work (he develops most of the IVTT designs through Corel). Like most of my friends he’s good at mostly whatever he tries. He even sews, and he’s good at that too. No joke. And if handling ladies was considered an art, he’d be considered top tier. My boy has hella game.

Katie Wendt : ktilla.tumblr.com
- The one and only, the most beautiful woman in the world, and my gf: Katherine Ann Wendt. Katie is a great artists. Painting, sculpture, drawing, and multimedia are her strong points. One of my favorite things she does would have to be her scrapbook/paper art stuff (I don’t know what you would technically call it). But give her some pretty paper, some glue, and paint or markers and she’ll give you cool stuff. Her art and her beauty inspire me to no ends. She’s an awesome artist and a better girlfriend. I love her.

Now I have other friends who are dope artists but I don’t believe they have tumblr accounts. Daniel Rios, Sid Flint, Kimmy Martinez, and more are all great creative minds who create sweet stuff covering all aspects of art culture. I love their art, and I love how they inspire me. Thanks guys!
